Back in
1902
It
was back in 1902, when paper products were just beginning
to emerge, that Clarence T. Brigham saw a future in
the line. At that time, the only paper cup on the market
was a flat type found in dispensers near water fountains.
Grocers made their own "shopping bags" by rolling a
flat sheet of paper into a cone shape. Paper towels?
Only one type, rather coarse was available.
Originally
a North Adams, MA broom manufacturer, Clarence Brigham
closed his shop and moved to Pittsifeld, MA, where
he started a paper products supply business. Incorporated
in 1917, the business flourished, with continual growth.
